This pizza actually won our “employee of the month” award. It’s a gorgeous, savory, mediterranean coup for vegans with roasted artichoke, kalamatas, arugula, and vegan mozzarella. But a generous drizzle of Harry’s hot honey is what made it truly outstanding.
Ingredients
1 ball pizza dough, recipe follows (or your favorite store-bought pizza dough)
1 cup Savory Onion Jam
1 jar marinated and quartered artichoke hearts
1 jar of your favorite pizza sauce
½ cup of fresh baby arugula
1 cup of your favorite shredded vegan mozzarella
Harry’s Hot Honey, for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 450º F.
- Roll out your pizza dough (or place your flatbread) onto a pizza pan or pizza stone.
- Lighty spread a layer of pizza sauce over the dough/ flatbread.
- Scatter the artichoke hearts and caramelized onions onto the dough/ flatbread.
- Top pizza with mozzarella cheese.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until edges are brown, and the cheese is melted.
- Top with the hot honey and arugula and serve.
Basic Pizza Dough
Ingredients
3½ All Purpose Flour
1 packet instant yeast
1⅓ cup warm water (about 110º F)C
2 tbsp. olive oil
1 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. sugar
Instructions
- Stir together the yeast, water and sugar in a bowl.
- Cover bowl and let sit for 5 minutes.
- Add the olive oil and salt.
- Slowly add in the flour, until a dough ball starts to form.
- Turn dough ball out onto a floured surface, and knead for about 4-5 minutes.
- Place the dough ball into a greased bowl and cover. Let sit for at room temperature until the dough ball has doubled in size, about 1-1½ hours.
- Place dough ball on a lightly floured surface, and punch it down.
- Divide into 2 dough balls. (if not making 2 pizzas, the dough may be refrigerated for up to 3 days, or frozen for up to 3 months.)
